Thanks for that!... and I want you to know, that I'm not selling anything, just trying to build a community of people working to make sense of this strange profession we've all decided to pursue.
What you get
Periodic blog posts based on the most commonly asked questions in the Voice Over world, hands on reviews on software, gear and other stuff from myself and others who have really taken a deep dive into whatever the subject is. Occassional casting calls looking for specific voices that we couldn't find over here (in Europe, or at the moment Mauritius). News from the world of Voice Acting, artificial intelligence and Voice platforms (that I think is worth knowing) and finally, opinions that I hope will start wider conversations about things that people will find helpful and interesting. And, you'll get to share your websites and setups as well so we can all have a look (if you want to, of course). Anyway, I'm too busy to be posting everyday or even more than a few times a month, so I promise it shouldn't be annoying.
What's in for us?
We get to help shape the direction of the industry by finding out what you guys are concerned about and interested in. We get introduced to many interesting voices from all over that might not be on the radar. And, like most VO's, we can't get enough of our own voice even if it's just in print.
Right... cool?
Yeah cool, the site is organized (at the moment) into the growing "V.O.F.A.Q." which if it's not obvious, that stands for Voice Over Frequently Asked Questions and will grow as more people ask questions. Right now there's a good variety of things and the first ones center on the questions that people have asked me (repeatedly) about being a voice artist, so I thought that was a good place to start. The other tag (or subject group) is "VO Tech" and that will cover exactly what it says. So, if you want to know about a product, we will find somebody that has been using it for VO professionally and find out what they have to say about it. So, there it is, hope to see you on the site and in the future, like soon, you'll get my latest blog entitled How Much Do I Charge if I Win a Script because that is REALLY asked a lot on line and people argue about it all the time.
